Moon over my town from my backyard #1

I have always been fascinated by the moon and I do know I am not alone. How it shines in the night dark sky even if it is not a star. Life on earth is so intertwined with its phases. It is magical even if science can explains its effects. This photograph was captured in my backyard. The moon looked majestic crown by the moving clouds. No adobe photoshop techniques were used to create this photograph.

Blue Hour Moon

A magical moment to capture a full moon - the blue hour. This is the time shortly before sunrise when the sky is a beautiful blue and in harmonious contrast with the white and grey tones of the full moon. I was actually on my way to run some errands but when I looked up, everything else had to wait. Hello Selene - you look beautifyl today!

Gently Falling Down

Some striking contrast can be seen in this picture, between the black and white and all shades of grey and also between the flowing smooth waters and the dark, sharp rocks.

Abstract photography can be fun. We can see everyday locations in a different manner but still be somehow identifiable. Here the way the lines are located show the top of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings in a recognizable manner. We can also some of the buildings lights reflecting in the Hudson.

Tasty wild almonds (B&W BG)

The scarlet macaw (Ara macao) is a large, red, yellow and blue South American parrot, a member of a large group of Neotropical parrots called macaws. It is native to humid evergreen forests of tropical South America. Range extends from extreme south-eastern Mexico to Amazonian Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela and Brazil in lowlands up to 500 m (1,640 ft) (at least formerly) up to 1,000 m (3,281 ft). It has suffered from local extinction through habitat destruction and capture for the parrot trade, but locally it remains fairly common. It is the national bird of Honduras. This particular bird eating a wild almond was photographed in the small Cerro Osa, Piro area at the Osa peninsula, located in southwestern Costa Rica, in the Puntarenas Province, with the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Golfo Dulce to the east. The main town on the peninsula is Puerto Jimenez and the coastal villages of Cabo Matapalo and Carate

The Colors of Autumn

The fall is a beautiful season indeed. The leaves change their colors and the forests change green to yellows, oranges, browns and vibrant reds. Pumpikins, sunflowers and mums offer addional charm and character to this time of the year.
