“Imma Barrera: combining science, curiosity and photography to capture the beauty of the night sky” by Charlotte Thomson-Morley Affinity Spotlight January 23, 2020
I have been capturing the night skies in the USA for the past few years and my images have been exhibited in several art galleries.
In 2019, I published a mini book on night photography in the NJ/NY area as part of the intensive eight-month Portfolio Development Program sponsored by B&H, one of the biggest photography retail companies in the USA.
Currently, I am working on publishing a book on night photography covering some of the most spectacular National Parks in the USA that have been certified as Dark Sky Parks by the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). This project began in 2018 with a visit to Joshua Tree NP and will include my astrophotography images taken during my Artist in Residency programs at Capitol Reef, Acadia, Glacier and Grand Canyon National Parks. Additionally, I published the first book of the series "Photographic Journeys Through National Parks" covering my work as an Artist in Residence at Capitol Reef National Park.
