Back to capturing the moon. I could have got the perfect alignment but had to rush to attend dinner. But it does not matter. I like the feel of this composition and I love this location with New York and New Jersey in the frame. Perfect “family” time with the @empirestatebldg dressed for the occasion. Temple Of The Moon

The Temples of the Sun and Moon are located in a remote region of Capitol Reef National Park named Cathedral Valley. It is a remote, stark desert characterized by amazingly beautiful sandstone monoliths that some say resemble cathedrals. Many of the valleys structures have interesting, highly descriptive names: Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Moon, The Walls of Jericho, among others..

The yellow-bellied marmot (Marmota flaviventris), also known as the rock chuck, is a large, stout-bodied ground squirrel in the marmot genus. It is one of fourteen species of marmots, and is native to mountainous regions of southwestern Canada and western United States, The fur is mainly brown, with a dark bushy tail, yellow chest and white patch between the eyes,. They live in burrows in colonies of up to twenty individuals with a single dominant male. They are diurnal and feed on plant material, insects, and bird eggs. They hibernate for approximately eight months starting in September and lasting through the winter.

Taking A Break

One of my favorite animals, the magnificent but sadly endangered, green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), also known as the green turtle, black (sea) turtle, or Pacific green turtle. There are two distinct populations in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, but it is also found in the Indian Ocean. The common name comes from the usually green fat found beneath its carapace; these turtles' shells are olive to black.

On a very cold winter night, the skies were so clear and the Milky Way was at its best. It was worth it to spend the night waiting for this moment, without a doubt.

Eastern Screech-Owl

The eastern screech owl or eastern screech-owl (Megascops asio) is a small owl that is relatively common in Eastern North America, from Mexico to Canada. There are two color variations referred to as "red or rufous morphs" and "gray morphs". This one is an adult red morph. They find security in certain pine trees and the colorful leaves of changing deciduous trees, whereas the gray morph owls camouflage better amongst the bark of deciduous trees. Eastern screech owls are strictly nocturnal, roosting during the day in cavities or next to tree trunks.
