This photo was taken at the New Jersey Shore. The Atlantic Ocean can be seen in the far background and I love the composition: The path leading to the Ocean and bringing us closer to the stars. Let's not forget we are made of star dust! The Milky Way is our galaxy, our home. It is visible in a dark clear night. Its name "milky" is derived from its appearance, as a dim glowing band arching across the sky whose individual stars cannot be distinguished by the naked eye. Surrounded by mystery, many ancient cultures created innumerable legends to explain its origin but it was Galileo Galilei the first to see individual stars with his telescope in 1610.
