Barnegat Lighthouse or Barnegat Light, colloquially known as "Old Barney", captured at sunset. The lighthouse was commissioned on January 1, 1859. One of the most beautiful lighthouses in New Jersey sits at the northern end of Long Beach Island along the Barnegat inlet. The inlet is a small inlet connecting the Barnegat Bay with the Atlantic Ocean in Ocean County, New Jersey. It separates Island Beach State Park and the Barnegat Peninsula from Long Beach Island. On January 1, 2009, at 5:00 pm, the 150th anniversary of its opening, Barnegat Lighthouse activated its beacon for the first time since before World War II. The light now operates daily from dusk until dawn.
Moon rising just after sunset. Love the matching colors of the moon and the top of the sky
The moon perfectly aligned with the beautiful Barnegat LIghthouse
